Deep Space Helsinki Presents Max_M (IT)

Dear music fans, lovers of techno, dancing queens and all-round night owls. It’s time for another Deep Space Helsinki evening of top notch techno and dancing bodies at Kuudes Linja with special guest Max_M hailing from Milan, Italy where he runs the well-respected techno label M_Rec LTD. Max has put out music from the likes of Silent Servant, CTRLS, Truss, Jeroen Search, Regis, Henning Baer, Stanislav Tolkachev, NX1 and DSH’s own Samuli Kemppi just to name a few and his own productions are also well known to many of today’s top techno DJs around the world. He is a stylish DJ with over 20 years of experience and a regular at places like Milan’s Dude Club and Berlin’s Berghain so he will surely be in command in the DJ booth giving everybody plenty to dance to. We will also see Samuli Kemppi’s first live performance since his ventures into the world of analog hardware that has shaped his sound into new territory. Juho Kusti will warm up the floor with a record bag full of techno goodies and that’s plenty of reason to come early to enjoy the music and dance the night away. See you all at Kuudes Linja!

A N D Y S T O T T on Manchesterista kotoisin oleva pitkänlinjan tuottaja. Hyvin minimalistista ja dubia Detroit-Chicago akselin teknosoundia lähennellyt tuotanto otti uusia tuulia purjeisiinsa 2012, milloin Luxury Problems -albumi tuli ulos. Hipsteritkin innostuivat, mm. Pitchforkissa “Best New Album” leimansa saannut monipuolinen paketti nousi kulttimaineeseen nopeasti. Kuudennessa Aistissa Andy Stott lunasti Kaiku-klubin tilassa sunnuntaina viimeisellä slottillaan paikkansa, yksi parhaita live keikkoja koko festareilla.

D E M D I K E S T A R E koostuu kahdesta levynörtistä, jotka ovat yhdessä keränneet levyjä koko elämänsä. Yhteistuumin vuonna 2008 alkanut “sämplätään näitä meidän levyjä” projekti sai monen loistavan julkaisun jälkeen brutaalimman pyörän pyörimään 2013, jolloin “Testpressing” sarja julkaistiin Modern Lovella, jonka suuntaus oli noisen, technon, housen ja free jazzin hallittu kaaos, mikäpä osuvampi klubi-ilta näillä herroille.

R P K jumittaa ekat pari tuntia syvissä vesissä niinkuin aina.

T I M O U T S O U N D S Y S T E M on reggae menoa pienellä puolella seiska tuumaisilta vinyyleiltä isosta Jamaika henkisestä soundsysteemistä J-Lainin ja Vilhelmin esittämänä.

L I L T O N Y toimii illan isäntänä ja päättää isonpuolen teknosetillään illan.

Kultti levy-yhtiö Dance Mania päätti jatkaa toimintaansa monen vuoden tauon jälkeen. Levy-yhtiön nykyinen pomo ja huippu dj Parris Mitchell saapuu legendaarisen Jammin Geraldin kanssa Chicagosta Vallilaan keikalle. ääniwallissa et pääse karkuun Dance Mania soundia mihinkään. Isolla puolella ulkomaan vieraat pitävät siitä huolen Lil Tonyn kanssa. Kotimaan kovimmat Dance Mania keräilijät Monsuuni, Jori Hulkkonen ja Toni Aalto määräävät pienen puolen soundeista.

Metsämorfoosi // Forestmorphosis is a processual exhibition project that lives and changes weekly.

A collectively assembled combination of images, sounds and situations invites everyone into interaction. The artist-audience positions are attitudes which can involve hierarchy, separation and power. Fortunately, attitudes can be challenged and changed through acknowledging them. The creator and the viewer often share the same questions. The relationship between the artist and the viewer is a dialogue – communication that becomes meaningless if either participant does not believe in the process.

This collaborative project explores experimental uses of space and the search for autonomy. Although autonomy in regards to the established social and economic system would not be possible, it is pertinent to search for escape routes and forms of resistance. The mainstream media, education systems and art institutions offer partial and inadequate representations of reality. The forest is one of the themes of the exhibition.

“Many of us love the forest folk as much as the forest folk love themselves. I would say it is somewhat innate for us.” *

The specialty of Finnish people’s relationship to nature is often emphasized. Is our relationship to nature still true, present and respectful? Or have alienation, indifference, self-indulgence and laziness led us to not even know how our relationship to nature and reality at large is? Everyone is responsible for opening their own eyes.
