“Flow’s Voimala stage goes electronic. Electronic music has a strong history at Flow and this year Suvilahti’s old Voimala factory building has the honor of being the festival’s official shrine to the deepest machine-made sounds. The darkened space, cut by lasers, creates a perfect backdrop for weekend’s gigs.”
The eighth annual Tallinn Music Week urban festival will take the Estonian capital by storm from March 28 to April 3, 2016. The Flow Festival adds its own spice to the week-long celebration with its own Off Flow concept on Friday, April 1. The event will be held in the Tallinn Culture Hub, a newly and eccentrically renovated old power plant also known as the “Culture Cauldron”. The impressive, steampunk-esque cultural center is located in the Kalamaja district, right beside the Old Town and the city harbor.
The Off Flow stage will feature a group of internationally acclaimed Finnish artists: electro master Jaakko Eino Kalevi of Nordic Music Prize nomination fame, sprightly hiphop powerhouse Noah Kin, respected techno producer Samuli Kemppi, Helsinki club scene activist Lil Tony, techno tastemaker DJ Katerina as well as Trevor Deep Jr with his house music set that incorporates a jazz/soul/hiphop taste. Also performing at Off Flow are two local sets, as Estonian DJ Raul Saaremets and Ats & Kris from the Haigla Pidu group take to the stage.
